Dr Chris Wain Equine Veterinary Services
To understand your needs, it helps to have a vet who really understands horses. Dr Chris Wain has successfully competed in all Olympic equestrian disciplines. He still rides competitively, mostly concentrating on dressage and showjumping. Dr Chris is also involved in the production of young horses through weaning, halter training, starting under saddle and training to more advanced levels in many disciplines.
With a specific interest in performance, bio mechanics and dentistry with a holistic approach to lameness, Dr Chris focuses on real outcomes, tailored to both horse and rider.
Working with professionals across the equestrian world
We pride ourselves on working with a wide range of professionals across the equestrian world: Veterinary Specialists, Physios, Farriers, Specialist Surgeons, Trainers, Riders and Owners; all in order to achieve the most appropriate outcome for you and your horse.
Our overarching focus is the biomechanical function of your horse, with the aim of improving the ease of movement and performance of your horse.
Dr Chris takes a keen interest in Equine Performance Dentistry with the focus being the maintenance or restoration of normal balance and function. We have experienced the benefits for both horse and rider first hand.
Dr Chris takes the time required to work with riders to enhance their understanding of the structure and function of their horses with the aim of helping horses perform better.
Obsession with hoof balance and structural support for equine limbs and feet is one of the cornerstones of Dr Chris’ philosophy.
